Diving regulator Mares Epic ADJ 82X
The Epic 82X scuba diving regulator seamlessly integrates timeless Mares benefits with advanced technological innovations and an exclusive design. The regulator showcases a rotating turret on the first stage and a state-of-the-art second stage equipped with the Twin Power system.
Features
1st Stage
- Epic Adj 82X's first stage includes a 360° rotating turret for optimal comfort. HP ports' unique design (OPD) ensures a pre-oriented high-pressure hose and transmitter, guaranteeing maximum comfort.
- 82X features a balanced membrane first stage, ensuring consistent high-tier performance and reliability at varying depths and supply pressures. Careful airflow examination optimizes internal air passages for natural DFC, ensuring robust airflow across all low-pressure ports.
- New AST (Auto-Sealing Technology) anti-flooding system is standard with 82X's first stage. Activated automatically by airflow, it eliminates the need for mechanical solutions, ensuring maximum reliability. It establishes anti-flooding protection, keeping the first stage dry in all conditions.
- Forging process for the body results in a compact, lightweight, and visually appealing product, making Epic Adj 82X's first stage truly distinctive. Available in both INT and DIN connections.
2nd Stage
- The second stage of the Epic Adj 82X diving regulator was designed by Mares to be the absolute top of the line.
- The VAD system utilizes the Venturi effect to direct 90% of the air into a side bypass. The airflow moves through this pathway without encountering any levers or mechanisms, ensuring peak performance even in extreme scenarios like cold-water diving.
- The Twin Power System empowers control over the VAD system's airflow, guaranteeing natural breathing at any depth and delivering the required amount of air according to the diver's demand.
- Breathing comfort can be adjusted based on the diver's preferences, facilitated by an easily usable knob, even when wearing thick gloves. This user-friendly feature extends to the purge button as well, which is both large and pivotable for effortless and immediate use.
- PVD technology has been used to create this regulator. PVD is an acronym for Physical Vapor Deposition and indicates a technology used to deposit a thin metal film over various types of substrates.
- Pneumatic balancing rounds out the list of advantages of this second stage. It is also available in a classic yellow color as an Octopus variant.
- Suitable for extreme cold-water use.
Maintenance and care: Mares recommends rinsing and carefully drying the Epic Adj 82X regulator after every dive to avoid dirty and/or blue spots on the PVD surface due to limestone residue.
Technologies
DFC- Dynamic Flow Control: Minimizes intermediate pressure drop during inhalation thus maximizing gas delivery, especially under extreme conditions.
VAD-Vortex Assisted Design: The air bypass tube conveys air to the mouthpiece creating a swirling vortex with a low-pressure area in the center that keeps the diaphragm down during inhalation, for very sensitive and easy breathing at all depths.
ACT Valve - Advanced Coating Technology: The new valve in the “X” systems increases durability by an astounding 600%, even under the most extreme conditions.
Twin Power: New, flow control manages the delivery rate of your gas, from natural breathing to power breathing. The former is the traditional way of breathing a Mares regulator, (VAD) while the latter (VAD+) provides an extra push when you need it.
All Metal Technology: Outstanding mechanical resistance and high thermal conductivity make our metal 2nd stages extremely long lasting and ideal for cold water dives. The high thermal conductivity of metal reduces the dry mouth feeling during the dive.
Superflex Hose: Extreme light weight and exceptional softness guarantee the maximum freedom of movement.
